World's Best Street Dance Crews Headed for Las Vegas Competing for $20,000


Events moved to larger venue as the most electrifying live event in street dance returns to the entertainment capitol of the world for the third consecutive year. 

From Hip Hop International, the creators of MTV's "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew (ABDC)," comes the most electrifying LIVE event in street dance, the 9th annual World Hip Hop Dance Championship. The best dance crews from across the nation and around the world will return to compete in Las Vegas in a new larger venue-- thrilling audiences with dazzling, awe-inspiring moves. Defending US Champions Poreotix , who recently emerged as the winners of season 5 on "ABDC, are set to defend to their title in Las Vegas. At stake, the gold medal and $20,000 in cash prizes. 

After attracting the largest number of participants in its history in 2009, the event is returning to Las Vegas to thrill a local, national and worldwide audience in its largest ever venue.. Preliminary events highlighted by USA Finals, World Popping, Locking and Freestyle Battles, and Urban Dance Moves workshops will take place from July 26-July 31 at Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa. The World Hip Hop Dance Championship Finals are set for August 1 at Orleans Arena. 

As proof of the growing popularity of hip hop worldwide, the events will attract dance crews, bboys/bgirls, freestylers, poppers and lockers from 35 nations including Australia, Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, United Kingdom, USA and others.

The week will begin with qualifying events for the United States as crews (5 to 8 dancers) from all across America "bust their best moves" for the USA title in preliminary rounds on July 26 and finals on July 27 at the Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa (11011 W. Charleston, Las Vegas), which will serve as the host headquarters for the event. Winners will advance to compete at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship in preliminary and semi final heats July 28-30 setting the stage to represent the USA at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship Final on Sunday, August 1 at 7:30pm at Orleans Arena. 

At the Finals, the top dance crews in three age divisions will battle for world titles in a high energy, entertaining event hosted by Chris Spencer (NBC/Bravo's "Significant Others", "Soul Food" and host of former late night talk show "Vibe"). The evening will be further highlighted with the presentation of the 2010 Living Legend of Hip Hop Award. Each year, this prestigious award is presented to a seminal figure in hip hop dance. Past recipients of this prestigious award include MC Hammer, Toni Basil, DJ Kool Herc, Boogaloo Sam, Don "Campbellock" Campbell and Tommy the Clown.

The World Battles - World Bboy 3 on 3 Crew Battle, Freestyles Battle and World Popping & Locking 1 on 1 Battles are set for Saturday, July 31 at the Red Rock Resort. Dedicated fans of urban street dance will be treated to the incredible skills of the USA and World's best bboys, poppers, lockers and freestylers at these "can you top this" crowd-pleasing battles.

And for those who'd like to learn street dance, Urban Moves workshops will bring together the world's best hip hop choreographers and dancers to teach the steps and moves to anyone with the desire to learn at the Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa on July 27 and August 1. Among the high profile presenters are choreographers for Jennifer Lopez, Usher, Beyonce, and more.
