97.9 The Box lets Houston's homegirl go over song airplay

Houston's own disc jockey Brandi Garcia has recently been let go by 97.9 The Box! Brandi entertained listeners form 10 am through 2 pm during the workday, she is well known and loved in Houston. The feud between rapper Trae the Truth and the station 97.9 The Box is no secret, but Brandi got caught in the cross fires.

The horrible incident last summer where 6 people where shot at a Trae concert called "Trae Day". The incident was verbally back lashed by co-host Nnete on The Mad Hatta Morning Show during and telephone interview with Trae. The co-hosts response was "What do you expect to happen at a Tare concert?".  It was only a matter of days before Trae hit the studio and made a mix tape making remarks of the co-host, the remarks made pertained to her weight.

After Nnete got word of the mix tape, an alleged memo was sent to all KBXX employees via email;

There have already been additional consequences on this ban that has lead to the dismissal of disc jockeys that even play a record that features Trae. In current case, Brandi was allegedly let go due to the airing of a Waka Flocka song that had a verse by  the banned artist Trae.  Brandi is Houston's homegirl and will truly be missed.
