Lorenzen Wright Found Dead

Former University of Memphis star and 1996 NBA lottery pick Lorenzen Wright’s body has been found by law enforcement officials in a wooded area at Hacks Cross and Winchester in southeast Memphis. See story.



A law enforcement source confirmed the body found was that of Wright, who has been missing since July 19, though the Memphis Police Department won’t officially comment. Police are referring to their investigation as a “death investigation.”


The body was found by someone who called police today.

This afternoon at the Collierville home of Wright’s ex-wife, Sherra Robinson Wright, sounds of wails and crying could be heard from inside the house. It is assumed that the family had just gotten the awful news.


Family members, friends and some former University of Memphis basketball players, including Penny Hardaway and Elliot Perry, were gathering near the wooded area near Hacks Cross and Winchester.
Police sources confirmed earlier that they are investigating a 911 hangup call from Wright’s cellphone made July 19.


Because Wright was thought to be carrying a large sum of cash when he was last seen leaving his ex-wife’s Collierville home, police are investigating concerns he may have been the victim of foul play.


He recently flew from Atlanta to Memphis to visit friends and his six children, friends said. He was scheduled to drive back to the Atlanta area July 19, with his six children and a friend. He was last seen at about 2 a.m. July 19, leaving his ex-wife’s Whisperwood Drive home. His former wife told police she doesn’t know who he left with or what type of car they were in, according to the missing person’s report.


Police say the investigation is ongoing.


Wright played 13 years in the NBA, including five with the Memphis Grizzlies, after playing two seasons at the University of Memphis.


What a sad story. Lorenzen had so much promise. Heartfelt condolences go out to Lorenzen Wright’s family.

Looks like Lindsay Lohan wouldn’t even put a dent in her 90-day sentence before she’d be released from prison. Insiders originally said that the actress would only spend 25 days behind bars, but now, reports are saying that Coke-han could be out as early as THIS SUNDAY!

'I relax, meditate and do 80 minutes of yoga every day. I hike and make sure everything I eat is organic. I eat steamed fish, chicken and turkey, plus salads, carrot juice and supplements.'

She explains: 'There's no such thing as too much. Whatever it takes to make an individual feel better, I'm all for it.

According to TMZ, the Internal Revenue Service filed documents with the L.A. County Recorder’s Office yesterday, showing that Chris Tucker owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006.

2006 — $1,788,080.91


The State of California previously filed a lien against Tucker for allegedly not paying $3,594,409 in state taxes over the same time span. Back in 2001, Tucker reportedly took in a $20 million payday for “Rush Hour 2″ and scored $25 million for “Rush Hour 3″ … which hit theaters in 2007.

50 Year old Linda Hogan to wed boy toy age 21

Linda Hogan, ex-wife of wrestler Hulk Hogan, is set to wed her 21-year-old boyfriend, Charlie Hill.

The 50-year-old has been dating her toy boy for two years now and the unlikely pair are said to be planning to marry next summer on Linda's yacht named Alimoney.

Charlie is a year younger than Linda and Hulk's daughter, Brooke. Apparently he was first friends with the couple's 20-year-old son, Nick.

The lovebirds were spotted in downtown Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago looking relaxed and happy and thoroughly enjoying each other's company. Beyond their matching hairdos, it's hard to see what the pair has in common. Controversy Surrounds Essence Hiring White Fashion Director

Lindsay busts into tears while being taunted in jail

Mean girls taunt Lindsay into tears.

LiLo can't handle the mean girls in jail.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly threw a hissy fit and was placed in isolation after several inmates taunted her.

"Some of the inmates in our ward, some of the tougher ones, were yelling 'fire crotch' at her," a prisoner released from the Lynwood, Calif., lockup told Britain's Daily Mirror.

"They just started chanting it at her. Lindsay didn't say nothing. She was crying though."

Inmates said the "Mean Girls" star began screaming at jail guards, who barred her from leaving her cell Friday.

Lohan, 24, is serving a 90-day sentence for violating her probation by skipping out on court-ordered alcohol education classes this year. She is, however, expected to be released as early as next week due to overcrowding in the California jail system.

Kasabian singer Tom Meighan revealed: "The reason Kasabian aren't as big as Jay-Z yet? We need to have our own festival toilet paper

"I noticed at T that he had a huge circus around him, his own toilet and his own toilet paper.

"That's what we're aiming for next. Our own loo roll and then we'll know we're massive."

Jay-Z - who caused controversy when he became the first hip-hop artist to headline the world-famous Glastonbury festival in 2008 - has previously admitted he finds performing at multi-artist shows a "challenge."

He said: "At festivals, some people are there to see you, some people are there to see the act before you, some people have no idea who you are. So how do you take that audience of all those different people and make them focus on one point? That's the challenge."

DMX headed back to jail

TMZ has learned rapper DMX is planning to surrender to authorities in a Los Angeles courtroom and begin serving jail time in connection to a crime he committed “5 or 6 years ago” … this according to X’s manager.
X’s manager tells us she’s not sure about the nature of the crime — but insists that DMX is “focused” on taking care of all of his past legal issues so he can move on with his life.
Earlier this month, DMX completed a 4-month jail stint in Arizona … where he served time for a probation violation.
UPDATE: TMZ has learned X’s jail stint all stems from a 2002 reckless driving conviction. Turns out, DMX was placed on probation after he plead no contest to the crime … but has since violated his probation … and has been ordered to serve 90 days in a city jail facility.

Wyclef for President . . . of Haiti?

Wyclef Jean is mulling over a career change.


“I can’t sing forever,” the Fugees star told CNN after a published report from Canadian publican Le Droit said that ‘Clef was considering a career in politics.


‘Clef says he’s filled out the proper paperwork in case he decides to go through with it, but he says he’s still thinking it over.

“Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward,” said a statement released by his foundation.  “At this time, Wyclef Jean has not announced his intent to run for Haitian president. If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately.  Please let us know if we can help with anything else.”

Inmates complain of Lohan's special treatment

Lindsay Lohan is about to start a prison riot.

It looks like Lindsay Lohan's jailhouse honeymoon is over.

A day after inmates cheered her arrival, some prisoners are already grousing about the "Mean Girls" actress.

Even though officials have insisted Lohan is treated like everyone else - beyond getting her own cell - rumors flew that the star is enjoying perks.

"She's getting special treatment. Some inmates were getting pissy over it," Debra Sickels, 30, said as she was released after doing 19 days for shoplifting.

Sickels said that during her stint, she was in the infirmary every day for medical treatment, "and the girls said they cleaned a special room for Lindsay. It had a regular hospital bed, a TV and a dresser for her new clothes and socks."

Other just-sprung inmates said they heard Lohan was paying for special food and new clothes and had a female guard at her disposal and access to a private phone.

"She's being treated like any other inmate in her classification. There's no special treatment at all," said Los Angeles sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

The "Freaky Friday" star was jailed Tuesday to serve a 90-day sentence for violating her probation by missing a string of alcohol education classes this year.

When she arrived in handcuffs and tears, prisoners yelled out her name and shouted, "God bless you!"

Lohan is expected to serve as little as two weeks because of good behavior and jail overcrowding.

On LiLo's second day behind bars, defense lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley stopped by for an hour-long visit, but didn't answer questions. Later in the day, Lohan's mom, Dina, and kid sister Ali showed up.

An exiting inmate said the jail was put on an hour lockdown for the visit.

"I sat there for four hours waiting to get released because of her," said Sharell Gaines, 30, a Watts resident who spent a week in jail for traffic tickets. "They put us on lockdown and told us not to look. It's discrimination. She's a criminal, just like me."

TMZ.com claimed that LiLo was given permission to take some prescription drugs while behind bars: the stimulant Adderall to treat attention deficit disorder and the sleeping pill Ambien.

Like all other inmates, she can spend up to $135 a week in the commissary for munchies like Spicy Velveeta Refried Beans, Spam, Kit Kat candy bars and Country Time Raspberry Lemonade, TMZ.com said.

Lil Wayne's baby mamas are one big happy family.

The mothers of Lil Wayne's children organize regular family activities so the incarcerated rapper's four kids can get to know their siblings.

The Lollipop hitmaker is currently serving a one-year prison sentence for weapons possession but his absence has not hindered the blossoming relationships between his offspring.

Antonia 'Toya' Carter, Wayne's ex-wife and mother of his teenage daughter Reginae, reveals she works together with the star's other former lovers to make sure their kids keep in contact.

She says, "We kind of always get together to keep the kids together so they can know each other. The situation is not ideal but at this point itis what it is and we try to make the best of it".

Wayne also has three sons he welcomed baby Neal with singer Nivea in November (09), while model actress Lauren London is the mother of little Lennox and a third, unidentified woman gave birth to Dwayne Carter Iii in 2008. 

Fourth installment of Celebrity Rehab for VH1

VH1 has once again partnered with Dr. Drew Pinsky for a fourth season of the hit reality series “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” The series, consisting of eight one-hour episodes, is slated to premiere late 2010.

Similar to the first three cycles, the fourth season of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” will follow the real-life experiences of celebrity patients undergoing detoxification and treatment at the Pasadena Recovery Center. The show will include Jeremy London (“Party of Five,” “7th Heaven”), Rachel Uchitel (Infamous Party Planner), Janice Dickinson (“The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency”), Leif Garrett (Musician), Frankie Lons (Keyshia Cole’s Mother), Jason Wahler (“The Hills”) and Jason Davis (Socialite).

The series will chronicle the patients’ intensive 21-day program with both group and one-on-one therapy and non-traditional therapies like art and music. Returning to the show to help Dr. Drew are drug counselor Bob Forrest and resident technician Shelly Sprague who have each spent years on both sides of the rehab fence. Dr. Drew is also bringing in some additional prominent physicians to help him give the patients supplementary one-on-one care.

Dr. Drew is a highly respected practicing MD board certified in internal and addiction medicine who will once again give viewers an unflinching look at exactly how the rehab process works and what it feels like for participants. Dr. Drew hopes to use his celebrity patients to humanize the process and show viewers that treatment is a viable way to break the cycle of addiction.

Redman rocks out at Shalin's 2nd Annual Skatedown

This past weekend legendary Grammy award winning hip hop artist Redman showcased "How High Ollie" as he jumped on his skateboard to land his sickest trick and rocked out with Staten Island's skateboarding community during Richmond Hood Company's second annual celebration of Skatedown in Stapletown.

This fun-filled afternoon powered by MetroPCS helped transformed Staten Island 's historic Van Duzer Street into a recreational space for skateboarders to trick out, hone their skills and celebrate with local skating enthusiasts. Redman joined pro-skater Brian Saul in providing afternoon competitive jam sessions to contestants of all ages and levels with Freestyle, Manual and Flip trick demonstrations. Several winners rolled away with prizes that included t-shirts, sneakers and skateboard decks provided by event partners MetroPCS, Converse and 5Boro NYC, among others.

Northwest Mall will host the 3rd Annual Trae Day

Northwest Mall will host the 3rd Annual Trae Day, presented by Trae Tha Truth and sponsored by his non-profit, Angels By Nature, on Thursday, July 22nd, from 2 pm to 8 pm.

Whitney Houston spends $300,000 a year on drugs

WHITNEY HOUSTON is blowing over $300,000 a year on drugs, sources say - and friends fear she's locked in a downward spiral that will soon end in death.

With the R&B diva's drug habit raging out of control, her entourage recruited a drug dealer who sold her $6,000 worth of cocaine during a tour stop in Europe in June, an eyewitness to the deal told The ENQUIRER.

Although the 46-year-old singer claimed to be drug-free during her TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, she was actually high as a kite at the time, said a source.

And while she's been through rehab at least twice, an in-depth ENQUIRER investigation has discovered Whitney has spent an average of $6,300 a week on drugs - or an astonishing $327,600 a year!

"Whitney is a dead woman walking! With the amount of drugs she's buying, she won't be able to live long. She'll be dead in months," her friend Marlon David, a party promoter, told The ENQUIRER.

The Grammy-winning singer's sobriety came into question almost as soon as she kicked off her "Nothing But Love" comeback tour in February in South Korea.

After canceling her Paris concert, she was hospitalized for what her reps called an upper respiratory infection. The condition forced her to call off three more shows in England and Scotland.

While most people expect a coke addict to be rail thin, Whitney is not.

When she was photographed in London, Whitney looked bloated and sported a puffy face - conditions that sources believe are side effects of prescription drugs for her respiratory ailment that cause her to retain water and have a voracious appetite.

By the time she arrived in Denmark for her performances in Copenhagen, Whitney's team was ordering huge amounts of illegal drugs, according to David.

Blogger Necole Bitchie got fresh intel that Swizz has been taking a more active role Alicia's career.

Over the past few weeks, Its been pretty tense in house. Swizz Beatz has been there and has been taking a pretty active role of being a manager. He has been pitching her to people and he’s becoming very vocal in the direction of her career”.

According to another source, Alicia Keys also axed her entire glam squad. “Swizz Beatz is trying to remove anyone from the team that appears to be a threat because of his own insecurities” says the source.

The source also reveals that no one approved of Alicia’s relationship with Swizz Beatz because of the drama and baggage that revolve around the relationship. “Some are questioning his motives“. Case in point, Swizz Beatz pushed for the release of “Put It In A Love Song” featuring Beyonce even though the song received mediocre reviews. He not only produced the song but he co-directed the video. As of right now, the release of the video has been put on hold and they aren’t sure what to do with the video.

The Source goes on to reveal that although Alicia and Swizz Beatz announced their engagement in June, the two have been engaged for about 9 months. Both left their previous relationships to be with each other.

Wesley Snipes Sentenced to Prison

It looks like actor, Wesley Snipes will be doing time behind bars after all. Snipes' three-year sentence for tax invasion was upheld by a federal appeals court, according to CNN.com. Defense for the actor claimed that the sentence was a bit "unreasonable," and Snipes believed that a penalty of probation would have been much more suitable.

Snipes was accused of not paying more than $15 million in taxes. The actor argued his innocence and testified that he was advised by shady tax advisers. He was acquitted of tax fraud felony charges. Hoping for a better outcome, the actor paid $5 million to the courts as a good gesture, but that served only as a down payment for what he owes.

It was announced on Thursday (June 15) that Janet Jackson is the newest celebrity spokesman for BlackGlama Fur and the folks at PETA are already coming for her… hard.
PETA spokeswoman Amanda Schinke says:

It’s amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn’t think that Janet was this desperate. Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognize that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat.”

Bushwick Bill facing deportation in Atlanta Immigration Court

Over a month has passed since rumor sprouted surrounding legendary Geto Boys' MC Bushwick Bill's no-show at the June taping of VH1's 2010 Hip Hop Honors. At the time, there was some speculation that he'd been arrested on unknown charges before he was scheduled to perform during the Rap-A-Lot Records dedication to honor the label's founder, J. Prince.


While those charges or the arrest have yet to be confirmed, Bill is definitely in some hot water. Today, the Jamaican-born MC faced deportation proceedings in Atlanta Immigration Court. The cause for the ongoing case is also unknown.


The former member of the pioneering, Houston-based gangsta rap group, Geto Boys, was born Richard Shaw in Jamaica in 1966, but raised in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn, New York (hence his stage name), before relocating to Houston in the ’80s.


Despite his small stature, he made a huge impact among the trio that included rap icons Scarface and Willie D. Their early, Southern gothic mix of sociopolitical gangster narratives, tales of paranoia and vulnerability ("Mind Playing Tricks") and psychotic trips ("Mind of a Lunatic") earned labels ranging from reality rap to horrorcore. Of course, Bill became the center of attention in 1991, after accidentally shooting himself in the eye during an episode with a girlfriend that, to this day, remains shrouded in a self-admitted haze of drunkenness, depression and suicidal thoughts — which he later rapped about on the single, "Ever So Clear," from his debut solo album. The cover for Geto Boys' 1991 release We Can't Be Stopped (Rap-A-Lot) features a photo taken during his resulting hospital stay, with Willie D and Scarface on either side of his gurney while Bushwick, his left eye grotesquely swollen and bloodied, posed with a dope boy cellular phone up to his ear while wearing a hospital gown.


But in recent years, Bill made a 180-degree turn, switching from gangsta to gospel rap. He dropped his gospel debut, The Testimony of Redemption late last year on G-S.P.O.T. Productionz (God's Special Purpose of Talent). In the video (above) for the title track, he recounts his journey from Geto Boy to gospel-rapping ordained minister.

Chad is seriously a free spirit! Yesterday, the Bengals wide receiver tweeted that he was in Las Vegas “walking around MGM lobby in my gold toe socks and h&m briefs seeing who’s winning on these slot machines, people looking at me crazy WTF.”


Apparently, he had bigger fish to fry and took his act to other casinos to try his luck. He also tweeted, “Back in my briefs and socks walking down Flamingo or as they say the Las Vegas strip, when it gets a lil cooler ill put on some clothes.”


The man that caused a youtube stir with footage of him jogging naked in the park apparently won $100 while gambling in his underwear! At least that’s what he told Arizona Cardinals safety Kerry Rhodes.
Chad must get bored with himself. Dude is always looking for the next bizarre act, the next weird occurance…or maybe he just sees these things as normal behavior for him. Whatever the case, dude never misses a chance to be caught with his pants down!

Southern Entertainment Awards To Announce 2011 Nominees at Memphis Hip Hop Expo

The Southern Entertainment Awards will be releasing the Official 2011 SEA Ballot to media outlets in attendance during the Memphis Hip Hop Expo which is scheduled to take place September 3-4 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in Downtown Memphis, TN.

The Southern Entertainment Awards, an independent awards show which focuses on those in a number of Industries ranging from music to fashion to nightclubs in the South, will be revealing the nominees which where nominated by fans and the Industry.

Nominations for the SEAs take place from May 1st until August 15th, with voting originally taking place from September 1st to December 15th. Submissions are still being accepted for the 2011 Southern Entertainment Awards at http://www.southernentawards.com/ballot/nominate.html.

In 2010 the Southern Entertainment Awards made a move to Memphis, TN after being held in Tunica, MS for the past four years. According to Janiro Hawkins, in 2009, the staff made the decision to move due to the city's desire to host the event.

"Memphis has always been very supportive of the Southern Entertainment Awards in the past and we felt that it was the right time to move our event to Memphis in hopes to bring more of the music community together for a common cause. That cause is for the advancement, education and celebration of Southern Entertainment," stated Janiro Hawkins, co-founder of the SEAs in a statement.

Nominations for the "2011 Southern Entertainment Awards" are in over 70 categories. Once the nominations for the award categories have been announced, fans will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite nominated artists, businesses, DJs and more.

The-Dream Was “Mentally Controlling & Abusive" remarks from Christina's close friend

MediaTakeOut.com received word from one of Christina's CLOSEST friends. She is FURIOUS with The Dream and what he did to Christina. Here is the report:

I am very close with Christina and she has NEVER removed her ring because she and Dream NEVER broke up.. 

His announcement was the first time he ever expressed not wanting to spend the rest of his life with her and at this moment she is a distraught mother and wife.. With that kind of shock i dont think she has even considered taking it off yet.. everything happened so fast.. 

Trust me.. if his words were truth, i would have been the first to throw a party for her leaving his evil ass.. Check all the photos from 2010.. she Never took it off.. meanwhile he sure tried to use her and that baby to promote his failed album cause thats the only thing people cared about... not him.. why would a single man do that? 

And all this bull about doing things to protect the baby!!! that baby cant read! But before she knows how to read she WILL be able to understand those nasty disrespectful photos of daddy and what WAS a close family friend and employee. 

Christina has real family and friends supporting her because she is 100% real and is an absolute joy to be around.. The Dream is the devil and anyone close to him is payed to be there and he could never get over that.. that was the ONLY problem in their relationship..he is crazy.. He was mentally controlling and abusive.. now that he has recently turned his back on Christina the clouds are clearing and she is no longer in the brainwashed state he had her in.. thank god!

He started by trying to control her career .. not allowing her to work with any other producers, meanwhile giving her leftover songs that he had already written and recorded with other artists.. Then he made sure to leak the songs on the internet so there was no chances of her building an album.. all the while badgering her about how much he did for her and how she didnt appreciate him.. forcing her to be subservient and fall deeper into this world full of apologies to a man who can never be satisfied.. 

It made me sick to be near her on the phone with him.. she apologized for EVERYTHING just to move on from the issue even when she was guilty of nothing.. "im sorry" was way to prevalent in her vocabulary for over 2 years and it became mentally abusive.. he wallows in misery. 

He constantly tried to argue with her about her family and to this day blames it on her side.. but Christina moved to Atlanta while everyone was in LA and it became clear that all anyone could do to make her happy at that time was let her go.. and they did.. but he continued to go at her with the same problems while she dedicated this "new life" to him, pushing aside her career and family for him..

He even faked illness to drag her further into this misery.. Christina was forced to play mommy to a newborn and to a full grown man and had no time to attend to herself, forcing her family to make extended visits in order to help her.
